Brief

Prolitus created a web/mobile based eCommerce Store and a backend ERP for a Leading E-commerce Portal to cater diverse needs of online grocery shopping for the customers, and to manage - different operations like taking orders from multiple channels, just-in-time procurement, warehouse management and last mile delivery to customers. We managed to build a powerful webstore and mobile app with seamless user experience along with an equally strong backend ERP solution.

The market leaders in this field like Big Basket (established in December 2011), Local Banya, Grofers, PepperTap etc. had huge investment and early mover advantages behind them unlike our client who entered the market late with only limited investment.

Prolitus implemented a robust and scalable backend system that was completely integrated with the Front-end (Website and Shopping App) and a Routing Software (which generates delivery routes using Google maps).

The system designed by Prolitus intelligently guides each employee on their tasks keeping minimal human intervention. All the departments, Call Centre, Category Management, Purchase, Warehouse, Finance, and Marketing etc. work seamlessly through a single system.

The system incorporates Sales, Purchase, WMS, Accounting & Finance, CRM, HR, Pricing and Reporting along with multiple Mobile Apps with ERP at the backend.

Different employees in the procurement and delivery departments are guided through each step of the day through apps in android devices attached to their wrist-bands e g. One app guides the user on ‘Where to go’, ‘What to pick’, ‘Where to keep it’ do so through a complete scanning process to avoid any human errors.


Result

The developed system had/has a huge impact on the organization. It is actually one of the major factors for the superfast growth of the company even with the stiff competition.

Inventory reconciliation and stock management through the system reduced losses and established better internal control in the organization.
Further, 15 different mobile apps for managing warehouse helped the team to fulfil the customer orders, invoicing, dispatch and delivery on time.
With a 10 times smaller work force and 10 times smaller area of the warehouse in comparison to the market leaders, the company could cater to same no. of orders with more efficiency. Client with the help of Prolitus was able to reduce its monthly average per warehouse cost by 50%.
